Blondies with Dark Roots
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
5-1/3 tbs (1/3 cup) canna butter, room temperature
3 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tbs vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
1/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks (I prefer chunks)
Directions
=Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mist an 8" square glass baking dish with cooking spray.
=Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
=Beat butter and cream cheese in a large bowl with mixer at medium speed until fluffy.
=Add brown sugar and beat 3 to 4 more minutes.
=Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture and mix on low until just combined.
=Fold in the hazlenuts, coconut, and chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.
=Spread the batter in prepared pan and bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool 20 minutes before slicing.
