One of our terminal patients, who has been on the transplant list for a kidney (he has to do dialysis 3 times a week, and occasionally emergency dialysis) just learned that the State has taken him off the transplant list simply because he has a medical marijuana card and when asked he admitted to using medical marijuana.
Bob, please put me in touch with Mr. Waltz. This has to be a case he's be willing to take, hopefully pro bono, as my patient has nothing but his SSI check monthly.
This is bull****. I have known this patient for 2 years now, witnessed the miracles MMJ has done for him. Now, Brewer or whoever just signed his death warrant. If this doesn't motivate people to help their fellow mankind, I don't know what will. Please, I beg you all for your help.

WE ARE NOT A DISPENSARY, CO-OPERATIVE OR A COMPASSION CLUB. MY WIFE AND I ARE FELLOW PATIENTS AND DEPENDABLE, HONEST CAREGIVERS. I am a chronic pain patient in possession of a valid, Arizona Department of Health Medical Marijuana card, with cultivation rights. I offer caregiver services for nonprofit, cost of production donations. I also offer patient to patient transfers as allowed by Prop 203. I am not a drug dealer, nor will I consider assisting anyone who does not possess or is in the process of possessing a valid, Arizona Department of Health Medical Marijuana card.
Or if he had a prescription(and likely an addiction!) to deadly pain killers such as morphine and Percocets! It is such a backwards system. This has to be a case and i really hope a knowledgeable law-man/lady will help
It is time for us to start contacting are state reps and hound them non-stop let them know stand with the majority or lose their jobs. Write letters to all news sources talk to anyone you can. No more sitting on your asses get busy this effects us all.
Norml InGilbert I have just received word from the friend of a gentleman who has been taken off the donor's list for a kidney transplant- because he is a medical marijuana card holder in Arizona. This could mean the worst for this patient. We cannot allow this to happen.
I will be contacting all state officials as well as our attorney to begin fighting back. Please help me by doing the same.
Using your most intelligent arguments (don't get mad, and never swear-even though you may feel furious) start contacting officials by phone, email, and especially hand written letters. We cannot allow people to suffer and worse simply because they choose the natural alternative.
Wow, thank you from the depths of my heart. The outpouring of assistance from several members of this board and others is overwhelming. Thank you all.
We have suggestions for attorneys and media contacts. Realizing this is the holidays, please keep this man in your hearts and prayers, and let's not forget to contact all of our media, politicians and legal resources after the holidays are over.
I will visit this patient daily, making sure all of his needs are met and assuring him that he has friends he has yet to meet, and we will not let him down.
Thanks again, you all have reminded me what this season of giving is truly about.

A. No school or landlord may refuse to enroll or lease to and may not otherwise penalize a person solely for his status as a cardholder, unless failing to do so would cause the school or landlord to lose a monetary or licensing related benefit under federal law or regulations.
B. Unless a failure to do so would cause an employer to lose a monetary or licensing related benefit under federal law or regulations, an employer may not discriminate against a person in hiring, termination or imposing any term or condition of employment or otherwise penalize a person based upon either:
1. The person’s status as a cardholder.
2. A registered qualifying patient’s positive drug test for marijuana components or metabolites, unless the patient used, possessed or was impaired by marijuana on the premises of the place of employment or during the hours of employment.
C. For the purposes of medical care, including organ transplants, a registered qualifying patient’s authorized use of marijuana must be considered the equivalent of the use of any other medication under the direction of a physician and does not constitute the use of an illicit substance or otherwise disqualify a registered qualifying patient from medical care.
D. No person may be denied custody of or visitation or parenting time with a minor, and there is no presumption of neglect or child endangerment for conduct allowed under this chapter, unless the person’s behavior creates an unreasonable danger to the safety of the minor as established by clear and convincing evidence.
