I love Tucson Hydroponics and Organics. Jim and Ryan are courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly - and a lot closer to home for me than the other stores. My girls are lookin' good.
Thanks Cat, I just went to Tucson Hydroponics, I think I'm on the right track now. The guy there definately was very helpful. Does anyone grow in Coco? He said the Coco they have was really good. Growers House looks a litlle far for me.
I'm using the coco medium and nutrients, and it's working out very well. This is my firstattempt at growing anything indoors. I stop by the shop (Tucson Hydroponics and Organics) when I have questions, and they're very helpful. Glad you gave them a visit - they're a relatively new - just over 1 year old - business, locally owned by local residents. I'm happy they're so close (only 20 miles away for me), happy they're local, and very pleased with their outstanding service.

I wish I had a good experience with Tucson Hydroponics & Organics
I visited them months ago during their Grand Opening. I went there to establish a relationship between the TMM Community and the 'newest hydro store in Tucson'.
From the moment I walked in the door I was made to feel unwelcome and as if they suspected me of being a cop or something similar.
I waited for 10 minutes for two sales people (the owners) to finish with a single customer and finally acknowledge my presence.
The instant I mentioned the name of our community, (in private) I was very loudly interrupted and shouted out of the store. (and I mean threatened and SHOUTED at all the way out the door) I never even got a chance to tell them why I was there; to welcome them and introduce them to TMM.
I drove directly to Growers House on Valencia and established that same relationship with them instead.
Never been back and although it is a bit inconvienient at times, I never will.
Go to Growers House and mention TMM for additional discounts...

I havent been doing this for long but i do know it's illegal for hydro stores to sell anything to anyone if they know theyre growing marijuana even with a cultivation card, that sounds pretty risky, maybe even a little dumb on Growers House's part.
We have a great relationship with SOG and Growers House. They don't seem to mind advertising on this site.
Thats good to hear, It seems like incredible stuff. The prices seemed really fair there to me at Tucson Hydroponics. I'm more concerned about not buying something I don't need. Thanks again to everyone that posted, what a great resource. Hopefully Ill have a picture on my profile like "Low Tide" in "no time"

7L, I wasn't present when the exchange took place. All I can add is that I was treated respectfully at Tucson Hydroponics and Organics and had a good experience. I'm familiar with LE in this part of Pima County. As in any profession, there are some LEO with a sense of discretion, but others have a witch hunt mentality.
i bought a blue lab ph pen about 6 months ago at GH and it broke today. i fully expected to have to buy a new on as i never saved my receipt :( so as i was buying the new one i mentioned the old one breaking and they exchanged it for me no questions asked! thanks GH thats why you will keep my business
Both Tucson Hydroponics and Sea of Green are terribly overpriced. I went into Tucson Hydro one time only, and they would NOT match internet prices for lights, ballast and filters that I was looking for. The guy was rude and somewhat arrogant and shrugged his shoulders while walking away from me saying "you'll get what you pay for".
Not always, my friend. It pays to shop and compare.
It turns out, Growers House is actually an internet sales company that offers super discounted prices for the exact same products the others are selling.
When I spoke with Growers House, they said you basically get the same discounted ebay style cut rate prices, but they have a local storefront to return warranty items to, instead of arguing with some mail order company, and having to pay shipping, etc....
I'm hooked, and frankly, I don't see how Sea of Green or Tucson Hydroponics can stay in business when Growers Warehouse has prices that are 1/3 less for the exact same products, all the time.

I was referred to Tucson Hydro and I have not been disappointed yet, I made the drive down to Growers House and Tucson Hydro is right at all of their prices if not better and they sell Canna Nutrients, which is what Im using and am doing incredibly well with. Everybody I know goes to Tucson Hydroponics because of their service, return policy, and prices, and I have never heard of any rude attitudes coming out of there. I would rather talk to someone who knows how to grow than someone who works on an internet site any day.
Tucson Hydro & Organics has continued to be my shop of choice. I don't feel the need to go anywhere else, but it's not an either/or situation. I'm not saying derogatory things about other shops - I'm sure other shops are good.
I do use the Canna line of nutrients and am quite happy with my results.
If I lived near Valencia, 4th Ave, or the eastside of Tucson, I'd probably be shopping somewhere close to me. Someone had asked about hydro stores. I just wanted to let people know about my NW side experience, and say that I'm thrilled there's a shop that's so much closer for me than the others.
And I don't work for THO, nor do I receive any compensation from them.
Growers House is the place to be, end of story. Like smokin said, they are growers and they can answer any question, not to mention they have the lowest prices in the entire state!
The only problem I have with Grower's House is that if you need to get something replaced for warranty, you have to stay on top of them every day. Trying to get a tent pole replaced, and they have had my broken one for two weeks, and every time I called previous to yesterday, I got a "I'm not sure whats going on with that, but I'll call you back later today and let you know the status". No call from them, not even once.
Other than that, when I first went in to buy my stuff, I was new at this, and they were pretty derisive to me when I asked questions. Almost like they were waiting for me to fail so they could laugh. That didn't sit well with me.
However, they have the best prices I have seen. I had a very large list of what I wanted and sent it to all the major online stores and the local stores here in tucson, and they beat everyone else by a mile. I still shop there, but I talk to the people there as little as possible.
The people at sea-of-green on broadway and pantano are the most helpful people I've met at any hydro store yet, with the 4th street location a close second. They are more expensive than GH, though, so its a matter of preference (and whether I want to hang out / get anything else on 4th :)
Im still not sure why everyone says GH is so much cheaper than everyone else. I still mostly shop at Tucson Hydro now but even Sea of Green is matching prices. Ill go over there if I need anything right away as theyre right around the corner. I know Tucson Hydro is usually cheaper than GH and they will always beat any price anyone has. I couldnt be happier with Tucson Hydro, and No I do not work there I just like supporting local businesses that I enjoy going to and want to see do well.
i really had a good experience at sea of green on 4th.they matched prices and even gave me a discount.i forget the clerks name but he was really cool.the shop itself was very nice, with plants and display lights.
