Hello TMM members. I have been thinking about starting a charity that helps patients that have terminal or serious illnesses that DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS to afford thier meds. I have been blessed with a format to promote this ideal. In the last few weeks I've had members that do not grow if I could setup someway for them to help.
I started talking this week to a couple friends about this. I'm talking to some friends friday that may help this ideal (dream) to be a reality sooner than I could have ever hoped for.
If you have any ideals or comments or questions post below.
Thank All of you for the oppurtunity. Your friend TucsonBob.

Mission Statement: We as a group of caregivers and fellow patients have joined together to give support to people in are community. That have life changing illnesses, that do not have the financial means for treatment.
Knowing firsthand the hardships both physically and mentally caused by the inability to afford the treatments need to fight or cure their illness.
We will strive to help others that can not help themselves, to help them obtain the medicines they need.
We shall educate patients in the use of natural alternatives to help treat their illnesses.
This is a work in progress.

Step 1: We need a name. Something that tells who we are but I would like no reference to cannabis. An IRS issue being mmj is still not legal federally. Step 2: Mission Statement. Step 3: Form nonprofit. Step 4: Select governing board. Step 5: File form 501. Step 6: File with Sec. of State. Step 7: File with IRS There are a few other things need but these are the main steps. Feel free to offer input on steps 1,2 or 4.
If you would like to submit a name for the charity please google it first. I have one volunteer to be on the board. I understand we will be sticking are necks out some. Feds still a problem but should not be much of one as long as we follow prop203 and the meds will be free we should have nothing to fear. My hopes are for things to really change after the elections. We have a chance to be a model for others to follow.
I have got a person that will help file all the paperwork to form a non-profit. Now we need to come up with start up costs. One time filing fee IRS $850.00. State $75.00. I could use any and all help in raising these funds. Thank you all.
Things are moving along we have four people to be board members. We can make do with this but I could use someone with book keeping skills. Also someone to help with designing and maintaining a web site. All positions are voluntary at this time. If anybody wants to donate or help raise funds please pm me. Thanks TucsonBob
Update: In less than 10 days from the time I first decided to put my dream into motion. I have had patients step forward and help get this going. We have the board of directors. The final mission statement and by-laws should be finished mid week. At that time we shall file articles of incorporation with the state. We have had over half of the $1100 we need to file all paper work in donations. We have had donations of clones and meds to help raise funds. We have also had patient growers and caregivers pledge a portion of every harvest to help with the needed meds. Still a lot of work to do but soon patients that need but can not afford the life saving plant they need, they will have support group of fellow patients and the meds they need at no cost to them.
Today is going to be a great day. We are have are first board meeting. If we can finish the by-laws and the exact services we are going to provide, we shall file the paper work by end of week with the state to be a non-profit. So get ready Arizona Patients For Patients is ready to serve the sick and needy. We will strive to be the model for compassion in the MMJ movement. I want to thank every body that has help to get this up and going. We will continue to need your help.
Along with helping patients with meds we are going to stand together to fight for a patients right to safe access to meds and to lift unjust restrictions (25 mile rule and the 2 1/2 oz rule). I will be posting fund raisers soon. We want the dispensaries but we fill a patient should have the right to grow their own. We will stand with anyone against rules and laws that restrict the access of mmj. Free The Weed.
Hey Bob are you looking for a particular video camera? I have an older camera in my garage that I would have to take out and dust off to make sure it still works. I know I used the firewire connection to transfer video from it to my computer. Most of the newer cell phones will take decent video.
I have a tablet that has a really good video camera, and it can upload directly to youtube as well. The catch is that its part of my work everyday, so I can't let it go, but I can certainly use it to take some videos for you. When I come take a look at your comp, we could do this as well.
